I have a javascript that hides the status bar message, when you put the cursor over links, and I noticed that it does not work in Firefox. So I did some searches and can't seem to find any clear answers.
Some sites say that this cannot be done in Firefox. I've even found a site that states that hiding the status bar message is a criminal offense that can cost up to 14 years in prison. This seems a bit far fetched, in my opinion.
In any case, I found a site that seems to be able to somehow hide status bar messages in Firefox.

So, it doesn't seem to be true that this cannot be done in Firefox.
I can't figure out how this site does that. Can anyone with technical knowledge look into this and post the solution?
Also, if it is in fact a criminal offense to hide the status bar message I actually don't want to do it. So, if anyone knows that this is the case, please tell us.
Thanks...
