Portal website?

Hey everyone,

I would like to see if you guys have any ideas for a portal site of some sort. Yes, very vague but I have come accross a really nice portal design which I may use, and it seems a shame to let it go to waste.

However I want something that could earn me some money of some sort.

My initial ideas are to either build something related to my fitness websites I already own. This will enable me to link it into my network of sites and perhaps pull more people to At large via the new site, and to also help increase the page rank power of my current sites. I could probably also run google ads on/affiliate programs etc on it.

One thing I thought was a HUGE exercise directory.

I am also thinking I could do something totally unrelated.

Maybe a shopping portal based on affiliate links? A reviews website?

Basically does anyone have any good ideas?

Why not a directory of your country's fitness clubs w/ reviews... Tie it in with your wannabebig sites, and perhaps even offer advertising slots to the large chains?

I am thinking of doing portal sites to advertise my sites in the categorys the portal sites are about. Portal sites can be a big way of getting pagerank if you require backward links.
