Can someone give me an example code of javascript links?
Once again google is ignoring my robots.txt file...

They've been mentioned a number of times. Just do a search back through the SEO forum.

Mike's thing had too many irrelevant thing on it and I can't be bothered searching through this forum...
I'm going to ask on site point if this lack of help carrys on...
You asked just after ten last night, and you expect someone to reply with a great answer immediately? It's christmas for god sake, not everyones got time for answering little questions that have been asked before.
You should be greatful for having access to such a great site.

That post was made less than a week ago.
... I clicked on search and typed in "javascript links". Really hard (!)
lol, I would have thought trailing over to sitepoint and posting a new thread would have taken longer;)

Thanks chromate...
document.write('<a hr' + 'ef="http://w' + 'ww.website.com">click here</a>');
I'll keep that there for future refrence...
Just been trying this, and think I'm gonna make a JS function which just does this:
document.write("<a hr")
document.write("ef=")
Then call the function rather than writing '<a href=' wherever I need to link a page I dont wanna "vote" for..

i believe those would be totally unusable to people who don't have javascript enabled. why don't you try blocking a server side redirect page with robots.txt instead(if you can get bots to listen to it).
I prefer blocking pages as well kdb003, there doesn't seem to be as much risk as with javascript links (with people having it enabled and such).
Could do, but wont Google still count the link, even though it cant visit the page. Eg a lot of pages have PR => 1 but arent listed in Google...
I want to get the number of links Google counts on my page down...

I'm joining r2d2's question - OK, with server-side redirect page I can be sure that I'm not voting for other sites, but I still want to reduce the number of links on the page for a better weight of each "important" link. Maybe forms is the answer?
Yeah, you might be giving your PR to your own site, but whats the use of PR on a page which redirects to another site?
Now Im thinking that redirect pages achieve nothing.

I agree...
I can't believe I'm working on my sites on christmas day... I could never be a Jew and not be able to work on sundays... I'm addicted to working...
Edit: I'm going to spend a few minutes browsing Chris' sites as a break...
Yay, you've learnt to use the edit button:D
I may work later tonight, but for now I'm happy messing around with presents:)

I've been working thoughtout the day and don't intend to stop...
I'm tired stiff but what they hey, I might make some money eventually...
Christmas day will be the only day I don't work on sites, at all I think. I mean, being dedicated is good, but life isn't all work!
Just my opinion mind.

I scored 25/25 on the enterprenueral test... You scored 22/25... And this is why...
I don't have to work on Christmas day. I'm probably making more than you now anyway.
I'm not prepared to go into another pointless argument with you either.

Yes, I don't feel like pointless arguments either... I've got work to be done... I'm multi-siting at the moment (meaning working on several sites)...
workaholic <> enterprenuer ;)
The true enterprenuer knows how to keep PR on his site on useful pages. :p

Ah no! Sorry guys wasnt meant to say you didnt know about PR! Absolutely no disrespect meant! Thats the problem with text conversation I guess :( Cant represent tone of voice...
Was just meaning the conversation had gone a bit off topic!! Was trying to get back to the topic of Javascript links! Trying to get help here, and I dont believe sarcasm would be the best way to go

Not even in the Google index yet
Have just had to move TLD so want to get everything sorted before Google comes in...
Edit: And the useful pages thing just meant not giving it to redirect pages - where PR is effectively useless I ges...
And yeah, absolutely no disrespact meant!! Its Christmas!
Edit 2: Obviously interested in what other webmasters think of my site, so was wondering what you guys thought? Any suggestions of things iv'e missed or anything etc??
