Mine is the debt management site thing you MAY have heard me talking about, what's yours?
I'm building a site full of automatic code generators and customizers.
I'll reveal mine in the new year. I'm working on the scripting today.

I suppose...
What happend to your other site where you could build websites?
That was an affiliate program, which hasen't really done very well. I will put something on next year, weather it will be my own program or the affiliate one again.

I think that website maker would be good for advertisng offline, for people who want a good website but don't know how to build one and can't afford a web designer.
Yes, it probably would. But where offline would you be able to advertise? I don't think the Wakefield Express or Yorkshire Post is quite suitable:)

I don't either...
Maybe you could produce leflerts and post them in industrial estates in smaller units which are more likely not to have websites.
I think I will find a few magazines actually.

Also try contacting all the companies who don't have websites in the trade wholesale catelog magazine thing. Market traders buy things from the wholesalers advertinsg in it, and alot of the wholesalers don't have sites.
Edit: Magazines can be very expensive to advertise in...

I'm working with my pal now really hard on the next version of our main website (for now), Websitefaq.com (http://websitefaq.com)
We're also working on our company's site, which is at www.pixelsheaven.com, and we're in a process of thinking about some new sites, still don't have any idea. Someone? :-P

Thank you! I'm glad to hear (read) that! :)
But I made a new sketch 5 hours ago, and it's ROCKS! I can't wait to show all of you this design - but we're still working on it, it's really beautiful and I want to show it when it will be done.
Perhaps I'll ask some questions about SEO soon and then in this context show the design, dunno. Whaaaaa I love it so much, I must return to work before I'll go to sleep :)

I usually plan designs in my head, and then look at websites that have elements of the design...

My process is a little different, tending more to look like - What feel I want to express in the site, what is the optional styles for that feel, and then the colors, elements and styles are coming, I'm sitting and painting a basic sketch (well 20 sketches is more correct :-P), and just then I'm going to the comp to design that thing, while always checking it's not too similar to other sites and\or designs. :)
This was the "Ronny's Way of designing cute things" quick tutorial, I hope you like it ;) Perhaps I'll publish something similar to that on our company's website sometime.
I just grab some paper and jot down rough designs.

I find a picture I want to use on my site and than I make the design relate to that picture.
www.mesotheliomaguide.net
Like the girl on the right. The picture gives off of a light, warm, vibe. Hence, the site is small, "charming," and uses pastels.

I do actually have a tablet, but don't use it that often. I find it easier to do it on paper for some reason:confused:
Your way is interesting Shawn, you just find a picture and build the design around that?

Yes, I find it interesting too...
Like I have a picture of alan partridge, can you make a design around that for us all to see?

What is the difference apart from design between jfonts and xyzfonts?
I think he uses them to cross promote.
BTW Michael, well done on the PR6 on xyztemplates:)
EDIT: It's now gone back to a 5:(

xyzfonts.com was my first font site I made. I learned what keywords to target etc. etc. Then I built Jfonts.com and loaded it up with content.
I advertise jfonts.com on xyzfonts.com and have put alot of ads on both sites. And xyzfonts.com only has about 20 fonts, while jfonts has about 150 in 11 catagories.
They both get about 1,500 hits a day each.

How many pageviews?

Are hits pageviews or visitors?
michael_gersitz
12-28-2003, 10:37 AM
1,500 hits...
I am not sure unique.... proboally around 350...
Just to get even further away from the topic...
Why does anyone even bother looking at how many hits they have? Uniques and page views numbers are what matter in the end. Or am I missing something?
I don't look at hits anymore.

I've had millions, but that's not really enough...
It's not for an online games site, imagine all the files:eek:

I know... I'm using 8gb of bandwidth a month and I don't even have 75,000 page views a month yet...
