I searched this site and found only one thread (back in 2004) dealing with this problem but the solution was never found. I have this problem.
When my web based gallery high resolution photo images open in a browser at 100% they are perfect, however, any resizing in either direction causes the smooth lines and color separations within the images to become jagged.
I have attached a prime example from this gallery that exemplifies the problem.
OR.. you can view the actual gallery at http://www.vitrixhotglass.com where
70% of the large images exibit this distortion problem.
I have exausted google searches on keyword combinations; pixelate, distortion, "pixel ratio", "aspect ratio", "browser resizing", jagged, and stretching and posted in five large forums - nothing yet.
This problem exist in all browsers on both PC and MAC. I haven't found a browser yet that can resize these pics without sever distortion in the curved lines and edges of the image.
Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this and if it is correctable other than using code to prevent a browser from displaying the image at anything other than 100%?
Are there any other forums that you might recommend in the search for a solution to this problem?
Thanks! Mike
