Are these even needed anymore ? with google integrated search you might as well use their technology. The only side effect i see is if your page is not fully indexed...

The only downside was i was going to integrate affiliate links with results from searches on my website.

How seamless is Google's integrated search? Can how much can you customize the appearance of the results? Can you limit what is searched?

well i believe with google adsense search u can even list the results on yoru page... as far as limit what is searched... i dont think that is an option or i dont see a need..

It is very integrated, you can change the layout and recently (last couple months) they even opened up and allowed you to serve results from within your site.

I definitely won't be coding any more site search features.

That does make custom site search seem a little unnecessary.
