How does everyone feel about me indenting paragraphs on this site? Like it, hate it?

Hate it.

I like it - so long as there are no other interuptions like ad blocks or images which can mess up the flow of your text block.

Hate is such a strong word, but I really don't like the indenting.

I don't really like it either... not for the Web.

I prefer no indentation as well.

I'm not used to indendtation on the web; but an extra space between paragraphs looks good.

What do you mean by this site? Forums or your content pages? It can be annoying if it's for the forums but it might give it a "new" effect for your content pages (guides). I reckon you should do it for a small period of time and make thread and get everyone's opinion on if they like it or not and go forward from there on...

Yes I've done it from the start with my articles.

Honest answer -- don't like it. Looks old fashioned.

For text on the web (and pretty much everywhere else apart from books and poetry) there's no need, especially if you're leaving a blank line between paragraphs anyway, as you are at the moment.

Personally I find a significant space between paragraphs to be most important from readablity and like chromate said, the indent just looks old fashion to me. It also causes a skip in the eyes as one tries to find the beginning of a new paragraph.

The indent isn't old fasion. It has a better use though. It is much better for essays and stuff which need to be double spaced.

My rule, is that if its double spaced use an indent. If its single spaced use a new line.

This makes a lot of sense to me. :thumbs_up

I do it on some sites, but I haven't really made up my mind one way or the other.

Don't like it really. It just doesn't look, 'right' on the web.

Chris - I think your indents would look better if you used 10px rather than 20px.

Chris

Well... no more indents.

p { text-indent: 1em; line-height: 2; }
happy now?
