Does anyone have any ideas about which microphones/headsets are decently priced and are of good enough quality for producing a podcast?

Does anyone else make podcasts?

I am interested in starting and would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks.

Hello

I have not made any yet, but plan to try an idea I had. So I am no expert on podcasts but have dabled in the audio production field before. :)

Judging by some of the podcasts I have listened to, quality microphones are not a pre-requisite. ;) Though the better the mic the better it will sound. :p

I have experimented with doing some recording with this cheap 10 year old computer microphone I have and it actually sounds pretty good. Good enough for me anyway. ;)

Though I guess when making podcasts you create the .mp3 files at low bandwidth so as to save BW and dload times. So some sound quality will be lost there as well.

I would think any mic that does not have some sort of low hum in the background and the voices on the recording can be heard and understood it should be good enough. :)
