How many sites do you have in your network?

Just curious, I only have 3 at this point but am slowly building it up, I want to eventually have 15-20 quality content sites and 2-3 busy forums.

Depends what you mean. I have about 10-20, it depends what you mean, a lot of them are inadequate, unfinished, or could be counted togther as one site. Plus only the sites with PR are linking to each other.

I hope to build up the number of sites in my network to around 15-20 quality content sites over the next couple of years. My goal is to earn over $10,000 per month from advertising revenue.

Between 11 and 20. Less than 10 bring in any notable revenue though. The rest get neglected. :)
