I saw this elsewhere where people shared their best SEO accomplishments and thought I'd be a fun topic, good for inspiration and whatnot.
So I'll start.
For the year of 2003 I was #1 on Google for every coupon related search I targetted, then the Florida update killed that.
I'm currently #1 on "wilderness survival" on every engine, "survival" too I think.
My literature site has hundreds of nice rankings on Google, not the least of which are 1984 (1) William Shakespeare (4, was 3), emily dickinson (2).
I'm #1 on Yahoo with "Televisions" and "Tvs" with a site that gets no love from Google.
I was #1 for "Web templates" on MSN when they first launched, and I managed to get this site in the top 10's of both lycos & msn for "search engine optimization" for a brief period of time.
way back in the day I got #1 for "quotes" on altavista. It was this experience that taught me that anchor text matters.

Bugger - this post prompted me to check on the result for my old home town Molesey (www.molesey.org). Not only has the result dropped to three, but its pointing at the pointless redirect which was about to be abandoned. Damn :(
Ah well, site is being redeveloped as we speak - any idea how I can get google to look fondly on the proper domain?
I can't really say that I have had any major achievements because I am still learning the ropes that is SEO. I am also having trouble getting a few of my sites indexed so not even the domain name is in Google :(

I got a client's site in the top #3 for web hosting in Yahoo!. It's still up there.
Talk about lucrative, regardless of the search engine you're ranking in.
Was #1 on adult games on MSN but have fallen due to lack of updating/motivation with my adult site. It'll be back soon.
Used to be #1 on sunburn, dehydration, and frostbite on Google before my site was possibly penalized.
#1 on Google for a client on 'chicago web design' at one point for many months.
#1 on MSN for about a week or two on 'printer ink cartridges'
My outdoors/survival site generated a top 10 Google listing on every top brand name of shoes for the entire 2004 holiday season. This vanished in Feb/March 2005. Probably why I'm penalized.. putting an affiliate section selling shoes/sandals on an outdoors site. But it paid off and generated more revenue in 3 months than in the 5 years the site had been online.

I don't think I have any accomplishments, but I expect my gba walkthrough site will nice.
Although the gba game walkthough market is tough, the strong competitor IGN and game fags etc, now my ranking is good on msn.

I've never had to rank well for anything to get traffic but am currently moving up the ranks for "free online game" (plural version maybe aswell?).
Only at 1xx right now.
My cookery site is #10 on Yahoo UK for sexy girl (http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?p=sexy+girl&prssweb=Search&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&x=wrt&meta=vc%3DcountryUK) - its actually that site's most popular keyword :)
#1 on Yahoo UK for house buying - #4 on Google
Just a quick question, is there a tool that can check which number you are on the search engine rankings for certain terms?
DigitalPoint's keyword tracker tool (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/)
