My content:
http://www.gadgetizer.com/2006/03/23/internet-explorer-7-beta-2/

Ripped off content:
http://blog.djaweb.org/2006/03/24/internet-explorer-7--beta-2.aspx

He/She was hot linking the image too, so I edited that and changed it to that big red thing.

What more can I do? The person is copying word by word posts, not only from gadgetizer but from other big gadgets blog too. Before this post he ripped off another one (about the iSee - see proof (http://www.bloglogic.net/2006/03/24/revenge-is-sweet/) ), and was hot linking the image too - the image was also edited but he deleted the post..

The whois information of the domain name (http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jhtml;jsessionid=VUSI5ZKPIMHCOCWMEAQSFEQ?w hoistoken=0&imageKeyPage=/whois/entry.jhtml&_requestid=1366547) seems to be protected by google.

This sucks.

actually it looks like it's run from Godaddy (probably their "instant blog" service). I'd send them a DMCA notice.

If the site is hosted by Godaddy, do as Chris says and send a DMCA take down notice to Godaddy. That is your fastest way to get the problem resolved.

Thanks for the link cuttler.

Well, it seems the owner of djaweb.org edited the post I mentioned and removed the image with the big red thing...which was pretty good like j0n said

Guess I'll have to contact GoDaddy and see what they can do.

Nice to see that the page is now displaying no content of yours. It looks as if they have taken it down.

I previously had the same problem with somebody practically copying the whole of my site. I told them to take it down as it had taken me 3 years of very hard work to make it what it was and it is also ranked very well in the major search engines. So I didn't want somebody that copied my site onto a free web host to reck it all for me.

Ripped content is a huge problem these days. I've been considering subscriptions to copyscape to automatically keep a check on my content. At the moment I do a check manually every so often and always seem to turn up something. Annoying, but just something you have to deal with.

I've been using Copyscape for over a year now and they pull something new up on a regular basis. I think Copyscape has been money well spent. I'd really like to see garbage "directory" sites that are nothing more than badly disguised site scraping go the way of AWS. All this type of stuff is is chaff or background noise that interferes with users getting to real content and real information.

I ran into a similar situation a while back with some stolen artwork. I'm glad you got it sorted out. It took me about 10 days to resolve, though I never filed a DMCA. The owner of the site in question must have been away or something, because the stolen content / bandwidth images stayed up forever, and then I received a letter of apology and the images were gone.

haha, classic image!

I'd file a DMCA and email them constantly until they answer.

All the best!
