I was wondering if there was a good way to block ads for my own sites in my browser. I will be doing a lot of on-site work, and want to avoid any inadvertent clicks. So this would include all ads, banner and contextual (Adsense). And I only want it be for the site or sites that I choose.

You could give this a try if you use firefox:
http://adblock.mozdev.org/
And then just turn it off when not working on your sites??

Just remember to check whatever you're developing in IE every once in a while. A few years ago designers chastised eachother for creating pages that only looked right in Internet Explorer. Now I find myself previewing as I write only in Firefox so often that sometimes in the end, the page doesn't display right in Internet Explorer (usually forgetting about box model inconsistencies).

you just need IE Tab , a free firefox extension which allows you to switch istantly to IE engine, all inside your firefox window  <---- don't you feel like punching this "Mr. Know-all" face :D
