Great article, $60 a year is a bargain, I think you could charge many multiples more. Just managing a forum independent of any of the traffic is no easy task.

All my top favorite bands are on there, Amon Amarth, Hypocrisy, and Children of Bodom. Keep up the good work!

True, $60 is a bargain considering the traffic, but man let me tell you bandsss areeeee TIGHT. $60 is about the tipping point for making them not think twice about purchasing. Monetizing it with google ads and direct sale ads makes up for the rest. I'm going to drop the other ads on the main forum page though (ebay, amazon, etc. These fans are fickle with those kinds of ads get absolutely no sales from them. Still trying to find the right "add-ons" affiliate wise. Google actually doesn't do what I totally expected but still does "ok".

You could put together an incentivized offer for free CDs or concert tickets, talk to Azoogle about that.
