I don't participate in web developer sites much anymore, and when I do it's usually on the legal/business side of things.
But I recently started my own community (ShootHouston.com) and am always looking for info that could help it grow.
"Heard" about this place somewhere else, and decided to see how friendly it is. Seems very friendly.

Addicting hobby/job ain't it?
Right now I'm begging the wife to let me buy a 400mm prime I have my eye on.

Oooooh. I just got a cheap 50mm that has been consuming my life for the past 2 months. :D Crazy DOF on that thing.

The exodus continues. Big names, too. Your legal knowledge will really be valued here just like it is everywhere. :)
Wecome aboard. :) I think everyone here is very friendly.
Yep, I'll be friendly. And I'm just getting back into photography after a decade of not shooting. I just got my hands on a used Nikon F100 (http://www.erinbilly.com/reviews/nikon-f100/), and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Well I posted a resignation this evening on SP, and it took less than 30 minutes for them to act on it and pull the staff area priviledges.
Oh well.
It was a fun place once upon a time, but time and divergent philosophies resulted in me resigning. Now that I look back, I see where I should have done it 5 months ago when I originally suggested I might.
Oh well.

Great to have you here for sure, Sitepoint is a big business that needs to answer a lot of questions at this point!
In the long run you made the right choice, I will never go back unless they make some giant changes in direction!

Hey there Brian, first of all: Welcome aboard :)
I just read your resignation post...and just as I was writing my "take care etc etc etc"-post, I realized that your priviledges were already pulled. So I'm posting it here:
Take care, it was a pleasure working with you...Mr. Vanilla Rum :D
I guess we'll see/read each other around here from now on...
Cheers
