Suggestion there needs to be a link for recent posts, not just new posts. Having a listing of all the latest threads and posts makes it much easier to quickly scan all of the forums. The "new posts" link only lists unread threads which means few to none ever get displayed due to the way threads are marked as read.

Sorry but its a detail that the other guys have gotten me used to and as a result I've implemented on my own forums.

I agree with this suggestion.

I agree too, but have not complained because the number of posts was so low that it didnt matter, but it might now.

Kind of, but not quite. I'm thinking more like a link that uses: http://www.websitepublisher.net/forums/search.php?do=getdaily&days=21

The old "today's posts" request rears its head once more:

<EDIT>what I had here doesn't seem to work I will need to check it further </EDIT>

There is a link to "today's posts" on the menu bar if you are not logged in ... a bit annoying though.

Hello

Yes I too agree. Maybe an "unanswered topics" link as well. :)

So you'd basically like a link with

http://www.websitepublisher.net/forums/search.php?do=getdaily

& another that shows topics with no replies, linked to from somewhere on the main page?

Basically yes. The best places to add it would either be under "Quick Links" or directly on the same menu bar "Quick Links" is on. The get daily link is the link I use the most in all forums I participate in. I like using no replies type links to look for threads that need to be replied to.

I'm not sure how to do the 0 replies bit. With VB they just assign a search a number and that number fails to work eventually, so you can't link to search results reliably.

I think they hacked their search.php file to do the no replies trick. I wouldn't advise this.

Okay, you should now see a "Today's Posts" link in the navbar even when logged in. The New Posts one has been moved to be under quick links.

Thanks Chris you have just made life so much easier! :) I'll try my hardest to get ahead of Stymiee in the post count and stay there. ;)

I'm glad you haven't totally removed the new posts link, I use that every time I visit :p
