View Full Version : TemplateMonster wants $1200...

Awhile back, I contacted template monster about doing a custom flash header for me. They wanted $1200 and made no guarantees of which designer I would receive. The $1200 is a little steep for a simple header (no sound, only a little animation), but the big problem for me is not knowing which designer they would give me. There are some great designers on template monster and some lousy ones.

Do you guys know how I can get in contact with the individual designers from template monster or people with similar talent? I've picked around SP and ELance and while there are lots of designers, none of them appear to have much talent. Either I'm missing them or I'm not looking in the right places.

Where would you look for a quality designer?

if that is how templatemonster said it they are stupid to think anyone would give them business. That is like you going to a car lot to buy a car and paying but not knowing which car you will get till they choose the car.

$1200 is a rip off!!!

I would contact some design companies in your area and talk to someone face to face about what you are after and see how much they'll quote you.

Or you could always try some freelance sites and look for designers with a solid flash portfolio

Maybe you've not picked around long enough? There is some very talented people there at sitepoint. Just hold a contest for the amount of money you're willing to pay and you'll get some good designs for it.

Take a look at oswd.org. I thought some of those looked really nice.

I used the designers from http://www.tornado-templates.com
They just modified me a whole site for half.
