i see alot of people post about they have been deep crawled and so on... how do you know that you have been deep crawled ? and also what does that mean for you ?

It's when the crawler (such as GoogleBot) follows the links "deep" into your site.
Advantage is, more of your content will be accessible from the search engines. It could also make a difference to your PageRank of certain pages, because it is dependant on your linking structure of your site. The links throughout your site to your homepage (and other pages) will also count as backward links.

Search Google to see how many of your pages are the searching....

Crawl depth is the extent to which a search engine indexes pages within a website. Most sites contain multiple pages, which in turn can contain subpages. The pages and subpages grow deeper in a manner similar to the way folders and subfolders (or directories and subdirectories) grow deeper in computer storage.
