I have been working on a site for a while - a domain that was acquired about 4 months ago that I later discovered was second hand and that had expired a few months before that.

Anyway the little Google spider would not visit, even though other domains with holding pages launched the same time (and after) were spidered within days.

I had feared that there was a ban in place because of the previous site content and was about to submit to Google to 'un ban' it.

Anyway, as a last resort, I added and submitted a google sitemap and within 24 hours, along comes Mr spider and the grey toolbar turns white.

Now all I need is a no 1 ranking :D

Anyway, it seems that the sitemap can help get a new site spidered

Martin I think you missed the point of his thread. Blue Cat I just setup a sitemap for one of my sites as well and am tinkering with it.

You people (1929) planning on using analytics?

I use analytics. It works a bit better than AwStats
