Yahoo & SBC (phone company) have deal whereby they cobrand DSL and sell it as a package with phone service. SBC also offers DISH network satellite service (with DVRs) along with this service. They advertise this all the time.
Yahoo now has a partnership with Tivo to show Yahoo content on Tivo boxes.
Tivo is sueing DISH over patent infringement.
Tivo is ripe for a merger/acquistion, many have speculated that Google will buy them, but now it looks possible that Yahoo might.
If Yahoo did this then they'd basically be promoting the DVR of their partner in lieu of their own DVR which is sueing their partner for patent infringement.
