Chris & Others.. article pagination with custom CMS?

Hey Chris, in the "what would you have in a custom CMS" you suggested article pagination. I was curious how you accomplished this iny our CMS for WSP?

Did you do a char. limit and chop it or how did you determine where to start pagea two?
