Google now displays internal links as a sort of sub-menu for some number 1 ranking sites. It now doesn't display a second link for number 1, but will still display a second link for sites ranked below number 1, although it doesn't seem to be as many as before.
Do you think a number one site that has internal links displayed along with its main linking is better placed than another number 1 site with no internal links displayed?
Do you think that google has evaluated the site and thinks plenty of links coming in to different pages, been around for a while, so display some sub-links as well?
Not sure about that, but there must be something going on because it does not seem 'automatic' that a number 1 site will get sub-links displayed.
