I'm just curious what everyone else is using to develop their sites...

I use UltraEdit/Photoshop mainly, and Dreamweaver if I wanna be quick.

EditPad if I need to make changes to a lot of pages, or need to do multi-line find, or count lines due to errors in the code.

Handy site that. I always spend too much time messing around with colors when I start a new project, should speed things up a little.

They also have a free web tool: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html

EditPlus, Photoshop, Illustrator, and this: http://www.steeldolphin.com/color_scheme.html

Is the free colorschemer tool just as useful as the pay one? What benifits does the pay one have over the free one?

Is UltraEdit resource heavy like Dreamweaver? Looks like it had loads of features. That's why I like EditPlus cause there is nothing to it

Anyone else here use UltraEdit? Any reviews on it?

Now I use the following:
Filezilla for FTP
EditPlus for editing
GIMP for graphics.
Color Cache for picking colors.
Internet Explorer

James

Photoshop and notepad, WS_FTP95 LE for FTP, and Cpanel.
All of these easy to replace except Cpanel (I've made some pretty nice layouts in paint in my day--I even changed Nintendo's logo to say TNTCHEATS)--I'd probably choke and die if I didn't have my beloved Cpanel.

Color schemes are really just gathered by flashes of the layout I get. When I want to make a layout, I just need to get really under the weather and I'll start seeing the layout in my head. It's kinda odd.

-------------- oh and I use FF as my browser. Unreplacable.
