View Full Version : Administrative Privileges
If I were to grant someone Admin privileges on my forum, would I be able to strip them of these privilege if I wished too? And if so, would they be able to strip me of mine and basically take over the forum?

The main administrator is set in a config file with VB. Without FTP access you cannot change that, but if you tried to change it in the software I do not know what would happen (software permissions might conflict with the file and I don't know which one VB would believe).
You would definitely be able to take away their priviledges any time you wanted to, but without FTP access I don't think they could permanently take away yours. Still, they could cause alot of havoc. Best to make sure you trust the person.

Unless you trust them 100%, give them super moderator permissions (and check your vbulletin admin logs in the event of anything untoward happening).
Well, I have phpBB but it should be similar. I still need to make sure that i trust this person. The forum isn't big or anything yet but they are devoting a lot of time to it, but I am still a little wary of his intentions. That's just the way I am though, especially on the internet, he could be a completely honest person.
