Why do people pay for custom nameservers? I've never understood this. Is it just to look more professional? (i can understand that hehe)

Yes, to look more professional I would think. I dont pay for them as such, its just what you get with a reseller account.

Yes, I'd say at least half of reseller packages and almost all dedicated server packages use custom nameservers, and there is no extra charge.

Well, there probably is, you just don't get a choice.

with my host custom nameservers come with 2 additional ip addresses(and you have to have a good reason to get additional ip addresses otherwise)
