Hi everyone,
Just wondering ,what browser you are using currently and why?
At the moment, I use IE and at times Firefox.

Firefox.

IE when I have to test. It's the worst browser (Yes, IMHO worse than Amaya)

FireFox, IE for testing and the pagerank info of the Google toolbar

Firefox with over 20 extensions. IE 6, IE 5.5, Opera for testing. I also test on Safari and IE5.2 Mac when I have access to them.

Get the Web Developer one :) And ColorZilla is quite cool, too.

Firefox. Though, I have to admit to being forced to get used to it after IE got some spyware thing I just gave up trying to shift. I wont look back now! Firefox is awsome.

Mike, persevere. It's worth it, without doubt!

Firefox but there still is that stupid crossbrower attacks and I sometimes still get those annoying popups that should not exist. A run of AdAware clears it up though. When testing I try to remeber to test both because each has some little oddities that really can get annoying.

Damn but they are clever elves!

I am a real convert ot Firefox over the last couple of months - I really struggle with IE now.

Firefox for me too.

I use Tabbrowser extensions, mouse gestures, and 'search status' which provides Google PR and links for checking the pages backlinks in the three SEs.

I've been at Firefox since around 0.7
Never looked back.

I like using the WebDeveloper extension and now find it so useful it's always open (I used to just use it for quick disabling and enabling of images, style sheets, javascript, and now realize it can be used quite well for coding layouts).

Oh, and I also use the pagerank. Love that little bugger. A lot better than a big bulky toolbar.

PS thanks for the great list, stymiee. I'm now installing SpellBound and Show failed URL.

that is quite the list. I only have the little Pagerank bar.

thanks stymiee! great list, I'm gonna try some of them .. I already love the little pagerank thing on the bottom-right corner. I've been using FireFox only for 2 weeks ... and it's amazing, IE looks like a prehistoric tool now

I love the extension system because it lets you customize your browser to fit your needs. And considering it's my number one app I'd say that is a huge plus.

yeaaaaaah .. you're very right there stymiee, I wouldn't have said it better myself.

Did you hear that news developers have announced, the current Mozilla 1.7 version will be the last despite the wide availability of a 1.8 beta version. Their main focus is on FireFox browser and Thunderbird email client.

James

Oh, that's cool. Hopefully this'll mean that people will start moving to Firefox in a bit, meaning it's easier for Mozilla to keep everyone updated, and on browsers that can render the bestest.

i used to use mozilla before firefox (i switched to firefox a bit before it was renamed from firebird). i never understood, why did they have two different browsers anyway?

moonshield
04-20-2005, 12:36 PM
mozilla has many more features doesn't it? Mozilla is more of a suite, and Firefox is more of a streamlined web browser.

James
04-21-2005, 07:53 AM
Yep, I think that's the reason.
