It does seem a bit proprietary, doesn't it? But you know what, technology is always evolving, and sometimes we have to wait for the standardization to catch up. I'm also keeping an eye out for when 10Gb ports become more standard and accessible. Your experience with Motorola sounds frustrating. Dealing with modem reboots can be such a headache. I'm glad you found a better solution with the Netgear CM1200. It's funny how sometimes support teams blame ISPs, but it turns out to be something else entirely. Have you checked out those Cheap Windows Keys on system software? I found a great source at https://www.reddit.com (https://www.reddit.com/r/cheapwindowskeys/comments/wjvsae/cheap_windows_keys/), and it's been a game-changer for my PC setup. Getting good deals always puts a smile on my face!
