I read this in one website:
------------
Rumor has it that for each PR, there is a max. number of URLs that can be indexed in a domain.
-----------
If this is true, what is this max number?
thanks

No. Though PR will help you get deep crawled, you should be fully deep crawled eventually no matter what your PR (it may just take longer).
And subdomains are rarely a good idea. Only use them if you need to host two parts of one site on different servers.

Agreed, subdomains aren't worth it.
I assume there's a limit, it's just so high that no site has been capable of reaching it yet.

a limit? Nonsense, the SEs are into the numbers game, they want as many pages as possible.

No limit, but the more PR your site has the more pages will be crawled in a month. That is what I have observed.

Why you guys think using subdomains is a bad idea? IF I have a domain I think developing subdomains with specific topics could be good.

I've asked it a few times over the years, and have seen many other people ask it, and so far no one has stood up for them--save one or two people that didn't back up their claims.
