If I find a non-religious charity I will do.

They're not trying to convert the victims, for christ's sake! How high IS your pedestal?

There will always be some of them trying to convert the victims, indirectly or directly. For instance help leflerts telling people how to avoid diseases by one christian charity includes christian prayers in it. I'm going to donate $50 to a UN-based charity.

For me, there's always just two immediate options: red cross, and doctors without borders.

Doctors without borders sounds good...

Doctors without Borders recently announced that they have all the funds they need for their Tsunami relief efforts, however they are still accepting donations for their relief efforts in other parts of the world (Source (http://www.reuters.com/financeNewsArticle.jhtml?type=bondsNews&storyID=7232613)).
Google has compiled a listing of trustworthy aid organizations (http://www.google.com/tsunami_relief.html) that are in need of Tsunami relief donations. (Google never ceases to amaze me!) You can follow the links on Google's page to research the different organizations, choose the one that best fits your beliefs (or lack thereof), and donate.

I don't mind if they have all the funds they need already because:
It's possible they have miscalculated and still need more.
There millions of people in need that are uneffected by this crisis.
I'm still thinking about where to donate... The UN food one sounds good.

in the United States we are all donating over a dollar. $365 Million. Interesting. I am for the relief though, they really need to clean up and not rebuild, but build better.

I've got a friend from Indonesia (IPlayAllDay, he posted here a few times), and I haven't heard from him since before Christmas...

Wow. I didn't realize that Yanuar was from Indonesia. I got an email from him on Jan. 2, so I'm assuming he's ok. I wish him and his family all the best.

I donated through Amazon, which then went on to the red cross.
If anyone's interested, there's a domain name, building.biz, for sale through ukradioaid (www.ukradioaid.com) on ebay.co.uk ...
