Back links in general are good for your site and are actually an important ranking factor, but when used incorrectly they can be harmful. Here’s what you need to look out for:

Anchor text ratios - You don’t want to have 100% exact match anchors for your site, that will get you penalized. Build brand links, naked URLs, and then exact match.

Amount of referring domains - You want to get links from different sites, not just 1 or 2. I wouldn’t build more than 2 links on a site.

Where you get your links from - This is the most important part. Quality is more important than quantity, so make sure you get links from high quality sites, preferably niche related.

If you stick to good backlinking practices then your site will be fine!
