Hi,
Crawling and indexing are two distinct things and this is commonly misunderstood in the SEO industry. Crawling means that Googlebot looks at all the content/code on the page and analyzes it. Indexing means that the page is eligible to show up in Google's search results. They aren't mutually inclusive.

Hi Friends,
Crawling is a process of accessing and fetching all the webpages of the website that are interconnected. This is basically a task that is performed by the software named as a crawler. This software is also termed as spiders or bots; they visit a website and send information to their respective parent website.

Indexing is also a process of creating indexing for all the accessed and fetched website pages and keeping them into the huge centralized or distributed database from where it can later be retrieved. In addition, Index is another name for the database which is used by a search engine.

Crawling: is the analysis of the webpages on the internet. The search engine scans the code and the content of every URL it finds.
Indexing: is the gathering of contents found during the crawling process.

Crawling is the process or reading through your webpage source by search engine spiders. They provide a cache certificate after a successful crawl. Indexing is updating the cached webpages in search engine database. Indexed webpages are now ready for search engine rankings.
