A search operator (sometimes referred to as a search parameter) is a character or string of characters used in a search engine query to narrow the focus of the search. In mathematics and computer science, operators are characters or sequences of characters that represent an action or cause an action to be performed.

Google search operators are special characters and commands (sometimes called “advanced operators”) that extend the capabilities of regular text searches. Search operators can be useful for everything from content research to technical SEO audits.

Search operators are a prefix or addition to a query in Google or Bing that limits the results set. They work like customizable filters. The results page you get back provides entirely different results than the average search

Search Operators are basically special command that you type in Search engines such as Google, which shows you advanced results.for example, instead of just typing ‘computer shops’, you can use a special search operator such as ‘computer shop inurl:.co.uk’
Here, ‘inurl’ is a special command to Google telling them you only want to see results that have .co.uk in their URLs.

Google Search Operators are the special commands or characters which allow you to make a more specific search by adding some extra words or symbols.

Basically, they are the shortcuts of getting a specific and accurate result.
