Which means of communication do you use to get in touch with your clients?

Our progressive head programmer says that email or Disqus section is out-of-date at present and that it's much better to use either your own solutions (which is too expensive to develop and implement the right way) or take advantage of third party solutions (like this cloud-based platform https://voximplant.com/messaging. What do you think about the issue?
