As the survey above stated that domain extension has a low effect on your SEO, the real impact of TLD is not sure yet. ... It can favor your SEO strategy. Google has once again confirmed that the new domain extensions will offer no ranking advantage over traditional .com or .org domains.

There are about 200 ranking factors in Google's algorithm, and domain name is only one of them; thus it has very little to no effect with the site's SEO. However, having a well thought SLD and TLD will definitely help in many ways.
