Keyword density should be maintained between 2-3 percent to get the maximum benefit of your content in search engines.

There is no ideal or exact percentage for better ranking. Personally, 1-3% of keyword density along with “semantic keywords” and LSI keywords works best for me. Google suggests to write natural articles. Again, there is no ideal percentage, but placing your keyword in natural places will work the best.

The answer to your question is around 1 - 1.5% keyword density.

This allows for your content to flow smoothly, and adhere to the search engines policy.

Yoast states that the keywords density you should aim for is between 0.5% and 2.5%.Their rationale is that anything over 2.5% starts to look spammy and unnatural, which search engines will not like.According to me, 1–1.5% is best keyword density.
