Chris
Just read the following about how more internal pages doesn't help with PR, what's your take on it? :( ;)
Q: How are internal links weighted?
A: Google says that it wont get you more "PageRank" but that doesn't mean its not useful, he says. Google said its good because people can navigate to your site, and more accessible to the pages.

i have lots of pages for lots of content, not for page rank. Result = lots of traffic. Worry about your wallet, not your page rank I say.

Yup, the more pages there are the more keywords there are for search engine traffic. High PR doesn't always mean high traffic.
If you build your site with a good hierachical structure and clear layout, thats the best plan. PR should flow to the right places reasonably well, and a user friendly site is worth a lot more than an extra 0.01 of PR. Who is your site built for?
But ultimately, internal links wont get you more PR in terms of your whole site. You gain PR mainly from incoming links, and a tiny amount from each of your own pages.

build a site for users, and users end up linking to it, and you wind up getting the PR without worrying about the PR. My site has links from every major movie news site, which helps with PR. With that said, I didnt worry about PR, I worried about my content and my users. :)

Say you had a content site, and could run a script that would generate excerpts from each page. Then, you displayed those excerpts (perhaps 10 at a time) with links back to the original pages.
Does this sound like a worthwhile way to get search engine traffic? Seems like the potential keyword concentration would be fairly high on the excerpt pages.

If they mean a link from a page on the same domain passes no weight, they're wrong.
However I think they mean that by adding internal links you're not manufacturing pagerank.

All crawled pages have PR. I think that for pages without inbound links they still have a PR of 0.15, don't they?
If you have 30 million crawled pages then you'll have good PR even if no one has linked to you.

if you had 30 million pages... many people would link to you anyway
Getting 30m indexed without a decent PR to start with would be very lucky. And you would still need good pages for people to link to you!

geese 30million would be a feat, i have 65,000 in 3months, and i am sure in 3more months it will be double that easy, but that wasnt my goal My focus, content and more content since that is what brings in readers.
