Anchor text can have a major influence on rankings in the search engine results pages (SERPs). Search engines such as Google are able to see this text and the page or site it is linking to and will take it as an indicator of the relevance of the target.

Anchor text diversity refers to the diversity of anchor texts in the links going to your site, typically anchor texts fall into 5 categories:

Anchor text is the clickable text in a hyperlink. SEO best practices dictate that anchor text be relevant to the page you're linking to, rather than generic text. The blue, underlined anchor text is the most common as it is the web standard, although it is possible to change the color and underlining through html code.
