Need help getting a domain name

Does anybody know the best place to get a top level domain name for the lowest price? Also, does anybody know where I could host a site for free without getting a bunch of pop-ups?

Doug, godaddy.com (http://godaddy.com) has them for $8.95 a year. That's less than a buck a month which isn't bad. There may be some cheaper ones, but I don't even use GoDaddy, I use Dotster, I just know alot of people who do use GoDaddy. Dotster is like $14.95 a year.

And actually GoDaddy is having a $7.95 .com sale right now.

As far as free hosting I wouldn't know. I ditched free hosting nearly 5 years ago, so I don't have any knowledge of good free hosts, if there are any (in my opinion of good anyway).

Thanks, that is a really good deal, I'll just look around and see if I can find some good free hosting and if I can't I'll just have to pay out a little I guess.

GoDaddy << I used to use gkg.net ( still have a few with em ) but those idiots have hidden cost. If you wanna renew then it is going to cost you $ 10.


Go with godaddy. They really improved their interface now

Dotster has an added benefit of hiding your contact details for free whereas other registrars charge around $10 per domain for this service.
