Rectangles have earned me more than popunders this month... Leaderboards in the lead... My CPM is low for popunders, even thought I have a 8% CTR on them...

I haven't noticed any dips. Tuesday and Wednesday were my highest days of the month. Yesterday dipped slightly, but not by much.

That is very odd. Fastclick ads are known for their steady revenues, unlike adsense. Rarely does dips of this nature happens. In fact the skyscrapers are almost neck and neck in terms of revenue with the popunders. Usually popunders are almost twice as better.
Traffic and other banners are normal. Hmmmm..... odd. Thanks guys for your inputs.

Maybe they are having shortage of ads.

My last few days have been even higher. This is strange...
Fastclick have no shortage of popups. Within the last 2 months I've shown less than 60 defaults for the over 20,000 popups I have shown.

Not sure if this is against fastclicks TOF. But for almost a year I had being getting approx $3.50 CPM for my site. The last week its back down to $2.30. So yeah, a big drop for no apparent reason.
I've switched to Tribalfusion's pops for the better.

I do not think it is against FastClick's TOS to discuss earnings... Only Adsense seems to have this puzzling rule.
BTW, I 35% drop in pop-under earnings in the last week is quite a large drop. May this be caused by FastClick's new ad formats?
That is, could the fact they have more formats to sell/offer means that:
1) They are not focusing (as much) on selling their pop-under inventory.
2) The fact that FastClick has so many advertising options, means that advertisers are spreading their advertising budgets across different sizes, thus decreasing their demand for pop-unders.
Lower sales numbers and logically, lower CPM - since their is lower advertiser demand. The old supply and demand theory. (I hope that made sense :))
Or maybe, it is the stigma that is related to pop-up/under advertising and the fact that most people try to block them. I notice that the Google toolbar doesnt block fastclick pop-unders, btw.
Cheers...

Dont popunders annoy people (I've never used them so Im not sure)? And where are the popunders on your site Incka and dolphin?
dolphin

They probably do. But I dont think popunders are nearly as bad as popups. Also they only see the popunders once every 24 hours. So its not too bad....I think.

Do pop unders appear after a person gets off a site? Where is the popunder on your site dolphin?

They load when the user visits the site, but the user won't see it unless they minimize or close the current browser session open.

Look on fastclick.com for examples.

I thought they paid $3.25 but fastclick say that they pay 7.00 CPM for popunders in the http://www.fastclick.com/publish.html
inside ad format under media. Is this true?
dolphin

We were talking about eCPM. So after they take their cut we get arount $3.25.

eCPM and CPM ?
incka

Fastclick base rates are always squashed. They are seeming to prefer quantity over payout, while tribal fusion prefers payout to quantity.

eCPM is what you get, it stands for effective Cost Per Millenia or something, Millenia (spelt wrong) is roman for 1000.
CPM is what they get before they take a percentage.
Fastclick take 35% so your eCPM is 65% of the CPM.

I see that fast click offers CPM and CPC banner is this better than Azoogle?
incka
05-03-2004, 01:49 PM
Azoogle is currently only CPA, but will be doing CPM soon.
I'm getting a eCPM on azoogles CPA banners of over $10, which is incredibly high, the usual is $0.60.
Now that is an annomoly as my site is very well targetted to that campaign.
I would recommend you tell us the topic of your site so we can recommend which to go with.

online games is what my first site is going to be about. Azoogle has bad support I emailed them 4 days ago and still no reply.
If you have AIM, try contacting them on that. They're online most of the time there.

Fastclick probably won't accept an online games site now.
