Link exchange

Hi ...

Someguy wants to exchange a link with me ..

My site is http://www.mydomain.com

They want to link to me using this type of URL:
http://www.theirdomain.com/links/index.php?url=http://www.mydomain.com

while I'm giving them a direct link:
http://www.theirdomain.com

I'm wondering ... will the PR from their page still pass to my site since they didn't link directly?

I've checked their robots.txt, and it didn't exclude the "links" directory ... so theoritically I should get the PR passed to me?

Or should I insist on a direct link?

Its possible you will, it is also possible you won't.

Check their current link partners. If you can do a backwards link search on one of their current partners and find their link then it's okay.

Searched a number of them and couldn't find the backlink from the "links/index.php" page.

However for sites which they linked directly, the backlinks showed up in Google.

Then I'd not do it -- they must not be using an appropriate redirect to give you credit for the link.
