a new business needs everything!

Hello folks...

I've just started a new business and I need a web site and the ability to sell online.

I have a great product line of about 40 items which I sell in direct sales at festivals, fairs, etc and the website is primarily for people who want to re-order.

I want a website that is clean and simple. No fancy bells and whistles!

I have a domain registered and a reliable host.

I have a modest budget for this, but not a lot of time to do all the work, so I need the help of an expert that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions you may have.

Hi PeterL,

Sounds interesting. I'd say you'd want to contact a local designer/developer to help you set up an online shop - that way you would benefit from having personal contact to create the right solution and it would be easier to make changes/additions along the way.

However, there are a few existing solutions which are aimed at your sort of thing such as Shopify and Volusion (probably more). Although I have no experience with them, I think they provide a lot of help with designs/shopping carts/payment gateways/delivery & receipt, etc. Take a look at what they offer, either way it'll help inform you of what to expect in running your online shop :)
