links keep getting drop from my site

I had 48 backlinks to my site about 1 mouths ago, they dropped down to 18 links. All the links are still there but why would I loose so many backlinks within such a short time

Google does not show all the backlinks it knows about.

Make a Google Webmaster Central account and look at your links there, they show a much more conclusive list.

Not all inbound links we consider as important work for SEO. I have also saw a lot of the inbound links we get not to count in Google.

For any reason some of the inbound links you consider as backlinks just lost credibility for the Search engines and have been defined as unimportant.
