Is there money to be made Directories?

A few years ago late one night I set up one of those PHP link directories. Never put any ads on it and only ever had free submitions for links. Over the yeas I often worked on link building the directory, and to me surprise I have just noticed this directory has a PR5 ranking. The big question is now what is the best way to try and make some money from this? Should I charge a submission fee? Is there money to be made from this?

If you honest to god have a natural PR5 link directory, yes, there is money to be made.

But you gotta be smart with things. Don't make it all spammy, undergo a thorough moderation process of new links, perhaps make a new design/logo to make it seem more professional.
