Merchant Account/Gateway, PayPal?

Can you tell me, why some people don't recommend PayPal for merchant services?
I am considering them. Have an online business.

Because of their fraud procedures that can often leave merchants high and dry.

Also, it is easier for someone to steal a paypal account than a credit card so you may get more fraudulent transactions.

You may want to look into Google checkout instead. They are basically the same type of service (similar transaction fees) but have more trust and brand recognition among users. Of course a high quality card vendor would be ideal for any website, but if its not a choice, this might be the next best thing.
